Colegio Gran Bretaña is a private, co-educational, international day school (Nursery – Year 13) serving 460 students who represent 50 different nationalities. CGB is internationally accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
CGB is committed to holistic, personalised, and inclusive education. A challenging internationally recognised curriculum is offered through small class sizes in which the main medium of instruction is English. All students also take Spanish at different levels, and students are also exposed to the local language in subjects such as P.E. Performing Arts, and our Co-curricular activities. French is also taught, allowing us to offer a truly international and multilingual education for today’s learners. Diversity is embraced and celebrated in a caring and safe environment that fosters both excellence and equity.
The school and its programmes are built on eight Foundation Blocks that intertwine our learning as a holistic experience covering; a Caring Community, Co and Extra Curricular Programmes, Inclusion, International Mindedness, Leadership, Outdoor Education, Performing Arts, and Strong Academic Core.

The Educational Achievement Department (EAD) is available to support students, teachers and parents. The department’s specialists offer academic support in co-taught classrooms or small group sessions, academic enrichment opportunities, teacher consultation for the effective implementation of required accommodations, beneficial strategies to support occupational/speech therapy goals and when needed, the design of an Individual Education Plan (IEP).

The classes are mainly offered in English by licensed English-speaking international teachers. CGB offers 4 hours of Spanish as a second language per week. This curriculum equips students with the linguistic and communicative foundations necessary to engage with the language. Additionally, they have 3 hours of learning in the subject “Colombian Culture,” taught by bilingual teachers. This aims to promote the use of Spanish while ensuring that students who may not yet have sufficient proficiency can access content in both Spanish and English. The goal is to acquire knowledge about key aspects of Colombian culture, facilitating better adaptation and integration processes.
Furthermore, students are exposed to the local language in subjects such as Physical Education, Performing Arts (most teachers are bilingual, with Spanish as their mother tongue), various extracurricular activities, and, of course, during breaks and lunchtime when students express themselves in both English and Spanish.
French is offered from Year 7 to Year 13.

Through creative timetabling, all students take part in our co-curricular activities (CCAs) during the school day. Wall climbing, swimming, SCUBA diving, photography, French cooking and robotics are just a few of the activities on offer.
Additionally, the CGB football, basketball, volleyball and rugby teams train during this time to prepare them for inter-collegiate competitions, as well as our inter-house events. Through the co-curricular programme, balance is promoted and students are encouraged to move out of their comfort zones to experiment with something unknown, developing new interests.

El CGB es un colegio maravilloso. No hay clasismo. Solo hay apertura a diferentes culturas y nacionalidades . Se cultiva la cultura, con el IB se pueden escoger las materias de acuerdo a las preferencias y talentos de los estudiantes. Es personalizado, todos saben quien es quien, y hay soporte en las diferentes materias.
